General Cleaning Checklists
Every Turn
Dust and clean:
Table surfaces
Shelf surfaces
Decorative objects and lamps
Floors (mop if needed)
Vacuum rugs (always) and furniture (if needed)
Disinfect:
Light switches
Doorknobs
Wipe off visible fingerprints (especially on doors and glass doors)
Wipe down full bathroom
Wipe down full kitchen area (fridge, countertops, microwave, cooktop, cabinet fronts)
Replenish supplies and straighten:
Hand soap
Dish soap
Shampoo, conditioner body wash
Toilet paper in vanities
Paper towels
Dishwasher pods
Make beds
Replace fluffy plain towels - one bathmat over tub, one hand towel folded with two black make up clothes rolled, hand towel on holder next to sink, two bath towels with wash rags on the 24” towel bar
Coffee supplies - filters, sugar packets, creamers, and coffee (extra in owner’s closets)
Supply blue bedroom closet - 2 pillows with pillow cases, 2 sets of extra towels and wash clothes (thin striped ones in the bin), light blue zippered sofa sheets with thin queen flat and matching fitted and fresh sofa sheets paper (found in the upstairs closet)
Trash:
Empty all trash cans (kitchen and each bathroom)
Empty the house vacuum
Take trash to the containers at the bottom of the driveway (green = garbage, blue = recycle)
Laundry:
Wash white linens and white towels in HOT water. Wash and dry towels and linens SEPARATELY.
Wash any other bedding in COLD water!
Wash black make up clothes separate wash from whites!!
Lights ON!
Loft Fan on/light off
Black big fan on
Light over kitchen sink on
Lights on purple wall on
Light to right of queen bed on
Entry hall light on
Main entry door light on
Lights over kitchenette on (if whole house stay)
Light on right side of king bed on (if whole house stay)
Leave:
Lock the storage keys back in the downstairs closet before you leave (and wiggle the numbers so guests can’t get the keys)
Open curtains at double door if it’s a whole house stay otherwise close them.

Every 4th Turn
Dust (and wash clean, if needed):
Baseboards
Window sills
Exterior windows at main porch
Windows on doors
Wet mop floors
Scrub clean inside of oven and microwave
Check shower liners for mold (replacements in owner’s closet). Don’t throw away the old ones! Keith can wash them.
Check bathroom for signs of mold and treat with white vinegar (bleach eats the grout)
Wipe out the insides of kitchen and bath drawers
Clean laundry closet floor

Stained or Broken
DO NOT wash decorative pillowcases ever.
Fill out the check out form when you leave to arrange cleaning.
Cleaning & Supply Locations
Owner's closet keys are in the lock box on the left side of the entry closet - code 4585
Locked “Mechanical Closet” in King suite contains cleaning supplies and refills
Locked “Pantry Closet” next to fridge contains cleaning supplies and refills, toilet paper, paper towels, linens
Under kitchen sinks - cleaning supplies, refill trash bags
First floor entry closet - vacuum
Laundry closet - broom, dust pan, dust mop, surface duster
Exterior & porches
Wipe down outdoor eating areas
Wipe down outdoor furniture and rearrange as needed
Lock all exterior doors
Move furniture back to correct location
Fire pit: 4 brown Adirondack chairs around the fire pit
Second floor large deck:
Outside dining room table with 8 stacking chairs on second floor deck (4 chairs around table and 4 stacked next to wall)
4 white plastic lounge chairs and 2 side tables
Grill
Restock firewood under next to front door under the swing (only one bundle)
Living and Dining Rooms
Cleaning List
Clean the screen of the TV and disinfect the remotes (place on coffee table)
Dust the coffee and side table
Vacuum the sofa (remember also to vacuum the space between the seating cushions as well as beneath the individual cushions)
Spot clean any carpet stains (spray under the kitchenette sink or laundry closet)
DO NOT wash throw blankets and the covers of throw pillows (place them on the kitchen counter and fill out this form when you check out)
Dust shelves and window sills
Dust decorative items
Fluff sofa cushions and scoot bottom cushions under the top cushions
Make the bed if a guest is expected to use it. Check for crumbs on the sheets. Both sofas convert to sleepers. Bedding is labeled in the upstairs owner’s closet.
Replace games and books to cabinet under the TV
Vacuum or sweep the floor (be sure to clean under the sofa and dining room table), spot clean for pets as needed
Disinfect light switches and doorknobs
Kitchen at Main Level /Kitchenette at King Suite
Cleaning List
Clean the inside of all the kitchen appliances to remove leftover food and wipe down and disinfect the exterior (this includes the microwave, dishwasher, and oven)
Clean the oven wire racks and drip pans
Clean the stovetop
Clean the sink’s drain filter
Wipe down and disinfect the inside and outside of drawers and cupboards (ensure that there are no crumbs)
Wipe down and disinfect all countertops
Check that if all the dishes are clean and have been returned to the right cupboard/drawer
Empty the refrigerator and wipe down and disinfect all the shelves
Ensure there are clean sponges and paper towels on the counter
Restock hand soap, dish soap, trash bags, dishwasher pods and paper towels (extras under sink or in owner’s closet)
Remove the garbage and line all the trash cans with a clean bag (kitchen garbage bags in drawer above garbage, kitchenette bags under sink)
Sweep the floor and mop if needed
Replenish coffee supplies - coffee, filters, sugar packets, sugar replacement packs, and creamers in the fridge
Verify spices are on the racks in the kitchen especially salt and pepper
Disinfect light switches and doorknobs
Bathrooms
Cleaning List
Clean and disinfect the whole toilet (seat, bowl, lid, and tank, floor and walls near the toilet
Clean and disinfect the shower and bathtub
Clean and disinfect the sink
Check the drains for any hair
Use Windex to ensure all the taps and showerhead are sparkling clean and free of any smudges
Clean the mirrors
Wash and replace all the towels. Each bathroom should have 2 body towels hanging, 1 hand towel hanging next to sink, 2 white hand towels, 2 black make up towels next to the sink
Wash and replace the bath/shower mats (hang on side of tub)
Check and replenish hand soap next to sink and body wash, shampoo and conditioner at tub (extra is in the king suite owner’s closet)
Mop or wipe the floor and check for hair
Wipe down drawers and check for hair
Clean and restock the bathroom cabinets and drawers (extra toilet paper in owner’s closet)
Disinfect light switches and doorknobs
Bedrooms
Cleaning List
Check the bedding for any rips or stains (take pics and text them to Keith at 423-595-5502)
Wash all the dirty linen and replace it with fresh linen (text Keith at 423-595-5502 if you didn’t finish the laundry and I’ll do it! We have a small washing machine.)
Make the beds
Clean between the headboard and mattress (this is a place where you’ll often find lost items)
Clean under the bed (this is another place you’ll need to check for left-behind items)
Wipe down and disinfect the bedside tables
Dust bedside lamps
Straighten the pictures on the wall
Empty and clean all the closets, dressers, and drawers
Dust the shelves and dressers
Vacuum the carpet/mop the floor (especially under the beds)
Disinfect light switches and doorknobs
All extra sheets and towels are in owner’s pantry closet at the main level
Laundry Closet
Cleaning List
Clean the interior and exterior of the washing machine (remember to check the laundry detergent tray of the washing machine specifically)
Clean the dryer lint of the dryer
Disinfect light switches and buttons/knobs of the appliances
Replenish the detergent (extra in main floor owner’s closet)
Leave the washing machine door cracked open so it doesn’t get stinky!!
Entry Hall and Stair Cases
Cleaning List
Sweep off top of steps
Clean visible marks off of riser at back of steps
Shake entry mat outside and vacuum if required
Make sure blankets in closet are folded, vacuum in closet is emptied, and doors are shut
